Daemen and D'Youville Play to 0-0 Draw

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Daemen and D'Youville played to a scoreless draw on Wednesday at Dobson Field, with both teams' goalkeepers making five saves to secure the shutout.

Both teams battled in windy, cold, and rainy conditions, but neither could find the back of the net in the 90 minutes.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • The first half commenced with both teams setting up strong defensive stands.
  • Goalkeeper Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) made crucial saves, including stopping a bottom-center shot by Eleonora Cecchini in the ninth minute and a top right attempt by Laoise O'Haodha in the 22nd minute.
  • Despite offensive efforts from Daemen, including a shot by Marisa Rickard (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) in the 15th minute, and another by Kylie Miranto (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) at 19:08, both saved by the Saints' Amanda Kit, the half ended scoreless.
  • The second began with Daemen getting the only corner of the game just under a minute into the half.
  •  Schultz made a significant contribution again in the second half with multiple saves, notably stopping shots from Carsyn Corydon and O'Haodha, which kept the Saints from capitalizing on their opportunities.
  • Daemen's offense pressed with attempts by Casey Keller (Rochester, N.Y.) and Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.), although both were saved.
  • Macayla Hansen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) ripped a shot in the 73rd minute that got saved, and Rickard had another look in the 80th minute, but her attempt also got stopped.
  • Despite the Wildcats' defensive resolve and offensive attempts, the match ended in a goalless draw, with both teams unable to break the deadlock.
