Women's Track & Field Concludes Action at UB Alumni Invitational

AMHERST, N.Y. – The Daemen University women's track & field team drove 10 minutes north to take part in the UB Alumni Invitational, hosted by the University at Buffalo, Friday afternoon.
 
Sophomore Kristen Oliver (Massena, N.Y.) earned another top three finish in the hammer throw and a pair of Wildcats runners earned top five finishes in the 5,000 meter to highlight the 'Cats efforts at the meet.  
 
HIGHLIGHTS
• Starting off the track, Oliver picked up her second consecutive top three finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.26 meters.
• Oliver was not the only member of the 'Cats to place within the top five as junior Samantha Kabel landed in fourth (37.05).
• Sophomore Julia Petry (Batavia, N.Y.) placed third in the shot put with a final distance of 10.12 meters.
• On the track, Daemen earned a pair of top five finishes in the 5,000 meter as graduate student Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y.) placed third (18:33.58) while junior Patsy Obenholzer (Greece, N.Y.) finished in fifth (18:47.74).
• Graduate student Emma Grzebinski (West Seneca, N.Y.) placed ninth out of 18 runners in the 800 meter with a final time of 2:28.12.
• Freshman Lia Brasacchio (Victor, N.Y.) finished in fourth for the women's and established a new personal best in the 400 meter hurdles (1:06.55).
• Junior Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) place sixth in the 100 meter hurdles (16.71).
 
UP NEXT
The Wildcats will prepare for the 2025 East Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be hosted by Roberts Wesleyan, on May 1 at 9 a.m. at Roberts Stadium.
