AMHERST, N.Y. – For the first time in program history, a member of the Daemen University women's lacrosse team was selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Senior All-Star Game as senior midfielder Cameron Briggs (Buffalo, N.Y.) was chosen to play in the event, the organization announced.

The Buffalo, N.Y., native will play on the Blue All-Stars team, which will be coached by reigning national champion and head coach of the University of Tampa, Kelly Gallagher. Briggs is one of six student-athletes representing an East Coast Conference school in the event as Carly Howell, Sofia Quitoni and Megan Rugolo of Molloy will join Briggs on the Blue All-Stars team. Leah Hansen and Lindsey Shimborske of Mercy are also playing but will be on the White All-Stars team.

"I am so proud of Cam for being selected to the IWLCA Senior All-Star game" said head coach Emily Bitka. "She embodied what it meant to be a Wildcat and helped us continue to build on the foundation we have and elevated our program. Having Cam selected to the IWCLA Senior All-Star game is a great honor for her and phenomenal way to conclude her collegiate career."

An All-ECC Second Team honoree, Briggs ended the year as the Wildcats leader in draw controls (49), ground balls (35), free-position goals (5) and was tied for the team lead in caused turnovers (20). One of eight players to start all 16 games this season, Briggs ended the regular season tied with junior defender Jenna Havert (Newark, N.Y.) for seventh in the ECC for caused turnovers per game (1.25) and was sixth in ground balls per game (2.19). Briggs tallied at least one point in all but three games and on six occasions, notched three-or-more points, highlighted by two five-point outings at UDC (April 5) and at D'Youville (April 23). Briggs collected a season-high six draw controls on three occasions, accomplishing the feat against Walsh (March 6), Ashland (March 10) and UDC (April 5). The Buffalo, N.Y. native caused a season-high four turnovers against Walsh (March 6) and four days later, secured a season-high six ground balls at Ashland (March 10). Briggs earned her 200th career draw control on Senior Day against Roberts Wesleyan (April 19), becoming one of two players on the Daemen roster this season to tally 200 career draw controls alongside fellow senior Katelynn Deveans (Clinton, N.Y.).

The 2025 IWLCA Division II Senior All-Star game is set to be played on May 31 at Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. Opening draw is set for 10 a.m.
