Accurso, Baran, Havert and Salvo Collect CSC Academic All-District Honors

AMHERST, N.Y. -- Gabi Accurso (Buffalo, N.Y.), Cadence Baran (Lancaster, N.Y.), Jenna Havert (Newark, N.Y.) and Maria Salvo (Clarence, N.Y.) of the Daemen University women's lacrosse team have earned 2025 Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing their combined achievements on the field and in the classroom. 

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter of important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and they must have reached sophomore athletic eligibility with at least one full calendar year completed at his/her current institution. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. 

Gabi Accurso, Sr., Defense, Buffalo, N.Y. -- In her second year as a Wildcat, Accurso was one of eight players to start all 16 games and collects CSC All-District honors for the first time in her career. A defender through and through, Accurso finished her senior season with 11 total ground balls, snagging a season-high three ground balls at St. Thomas Aquinas on March 22. She caused a season-high two turnovers twice this season, at Findlay on March 8 and against Molloy on April 12. Accurso is majoring in Childhood Education and has a 3.68 GPA. 

Cadence Baran, So., Attack, Lancaster, N.Y. -- Earns CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time after appearing in 16 games while making 15 starts on the year. Baran ended the year with 13 goals (good for sixth on the team), 16 points (seventh on the team) and eight ground balls. The sophomore attack tallied a season-high three points twice this season, first at No. 23 Mercy on March 29 and again at UDC on April 5. She snagged a career-high three ground balls at No. 18 Seton Hill on April 9 and caused two turnovers at STAC on March 22. Baran is majoring in undeclared and has maintained a 3.71 cumulative GPA.

Jenna Havert, Jr., Defense, Newark, N.Y. -- Earned all-conference honors for the first time in her three-year Daemen career, collecting All-ECC Second Team honors this season. One of eight players start in all 16 games, Havert ended the year tied for the team lead in caused turnovers (20) and ranked second in ground balls (32). She concluded the regular season ranked seventh in the ECC for caused turnovers per game (1.25), including causing a career-high four turnovers against Roberts Wesleyan on April 19. Havert snagged three-or-more ground balls on seven occasions, underscored by two occasions where she scooped up four at Lock Haven and at No. 24 Dominican (N.Y.) on April 27. She tallied the second goal of her collegiate career in the third quarter against UDC on April 5. Havert boasts a 3.73 GPA while majoring in English.

Maria Salvo, So., Attack, Clarence, N.Y. -- Collects CSC Academic All-District for the first time. In her first year at Daemen, Salvo appeared in all 16 games and ended the year with nine points, 13 ground balls and 13 draw controls. She made her Daemen debut against Lock Haven in the season opener on Feb. 23 and scored her first Daemen goal against Walsh on March 6, finishing with two goals on two shots on the night. Salvo tallied a hat trick at STAC on March 22, making three goals on four shots. She scooped three ground balls and caused two turnovers at Findlay on March 8. Majoring in Biochemistry, Salvo has maintained a 3.96 cumulative GPA.
