AMHERST, N.Y. – The Daemen University women's lacrosse team was well represented on both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll and Honor Squad, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
Individually, six members of the Wildcats were recognized on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll with
Gabi Accurso (Buffalo, N.Y.),
Ella Bouley (Auburn, N.Y.),
Jenna Havert (Newark, N.Y.),
Grace Heath (Corning, N.Y.),
Abbey Kamas (Horeseheads, N.Y.) and
Olivia Wade (Eden, N.Y.) all collecting the accolade.
To be eligible, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. In total, The IWLCA honored 588 student-athletes from 84 different institutions on the 2024-25 IWLCA Division II Academic Honor Roll.
For Accurso, she was one of eight players to start all 16 games and snagged a season-high three ground balls at STAC. The senior also caused a season-high two turnovers at Findlay and against Molloy. She graduated with her degree in inclusive childhood education this past spring.
The first All-ECC First Team honoree in program history, Bouley became the first player in program history to record 100 goals all with Daemen after a three-goal performance at STAC. The Auburn, N.Y., native ended the year as the Wildcats leader in goals (25), second in total points (34) and third in both ground balls (27) and caused turnovers (16). She scored three-or-more goals on four occasions, highlighted by a four-goal outing against Roberts Wesleyan. Bouley tallied a season-high six points at Findlay off three points and three assists and nearly tied her career-high in ground balls with seven at STAC. A team captain this past season, Bouley scored the game-winning goal in overtime against D'Youville to help punch the Wildcats ticket to the ECC Women's Lacrosse Championship for the first time in program history. She also scored against #1 seeded RV Mercy in the Wildcats first postseason game in program history. Bouley is pursuing her degree in health & wellness at the university.
An All-ECC Second Team selection, Havert ended the year tied for the team lead in caused turnovers (20) and ranked second in ground balls (32). Havert concluded the regular season ranked seventh in the ECC for caused turnovers per game (1.25) and snagged three-or-more ground balls on seven occasions, underscored by two occasions where she scooped up four at Lock Haven and at No. 24 Dominican (N.Y.). The Newark, N.Y., native also caused a career-high four turnovers against Roberts Wesleyan. She also featured on the offensive side of the ball as she tallied the second goal of her collegiate career in the third quarter against UDC in the Wildcats 21-0 win. The defender is currently pursuing her degree in English.
In her first season with the program, Heath appeared in six games and started in the season opener at Lock Haven where she tallied a season-high two assists. Later in the season, she scored a goal at STAC and UDC. Heath also caused a turnover and picked up a ground ball against the Spartans as well. She is majoring in childhood education.
Kamas appeared in two games against Lock Haven and Lake Erie before being sidelined due to injury. She is currently pursuing her degree in social work/psychology.
Wade appeared in eight games with one start against Roberts Wesleyan in 2025. She scored two goals at Ashland and picked up a ground ball against Roberts Wesleyan on Senior Day. The Eden, N.Y., native is majoring in physical therapy.
Additionally, as a team the Wildcats were named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the second consecutive season. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. The IWLCA has named 383 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Academic Honor Squads for the 2024-25 academic year.
Daemen posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.43 this past year to earn the honor. The 'Cats were one of three ECC schools to earn the award alongside Mercy and Molloy as well.
