AMHERST, N.Y. -- The Daemen University women's tennis team will play 11 regular season matches during the 2025 fall season, head coach Richard Greco announced today. The Wildcats will play five home matches at Daemen's brand new Royal Park Sports Complex courts this season, with all five home matches being played in the first month of the season.
The Wildcats will make their Royal Park debut in the season opener home match on Saturday, Sept. 6 against Division III Fredonia College in their first of five home matches. The following weekend, Daemen will then travel to Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania to play in their only tournament of the fall in the Bloomsburg Invitational on Sept. 12 through 13 hosted by Division II foe Bloomsburg University. The Wildcats wrap up the weekend with a home match against Division III Nazareth College on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Royal Park courts.
Daemen opens up East Coast Conference play with the first of three consecutive home conference matches starting on Friday, Sept. 26 as the Cats host the Queens College Knights at Royal Park, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans on Saturday, Sept. 27 and crosstown rivals D'Youville University Saints on Friday, Oct. 3 for their final home match of the fall.
The Wildcats will play their remaining five matches on the road, starting with back-to-back matches played at Bloomsburg University. Daemen will take on East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday, Oct. 8, and play the Huskies of Bloomsburg on Thursday, Oct. 9. The Wildcats will travel to play at Ithaca University on Saturday, Oct. 11 before hitting the road for their final ECC match of the season on Friday, Oct. 17 at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C. Daemen will close out the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Oswego.
The 2025 ECC Championship Tournament will be played on Oct. 24 and 25.
Daemen returns five players from last season's team that went 10-9 overall and finished fourth in the ECC in the 2024-25 season. The Wildcats graduated their top three singles players from a season ago in all-conference player
Frida Rubio,
Kitsa Scime, who finished second in Daemen's record books for singles victories, and Yinnett Del Leon, who totaled 26 singles victories over her four-year Daemen career. The Wildcats added three newcomers to the 2025-26 squad,
Marley Conover (San Luis Obispo, Cali.),
Nadja Emmendorfer (Clarence, N.Y.) and
Bayisenge Marie-Claire (Syracuse, N.Y.) to bring the team to eight members for the upcoming season.
