After claiming two of the three doubles matches, STAC took a 1-0 lead. The Spartans ultimately secured the match by winning four of the six singles contests, though the Wildcats put up hard-fought battles. DOUBLES Daemen's No. 1 pair of Marley Conover (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) and Stephanie Baier (Boise, Idaho) fell 6-0 to Kateryna Kryuchkova and Sun Zhuoxuan. Carly Armitage (Rochester, N.Y.) and Bella Bjerkan (Elmhurst, Ill.) also dropped a 6-0 decision to Mar Caneves and Shreethika Vangala at the No. 2 slot. The Wildcats' lone doubles win came from Nadja Emmendorfer (Clarence, N.Y.) and Ashley Bonilla (Flushing, N.Y.) by walkover. SINGLES Conover fell 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 1 singles spot, winning the sixth game of the second set. At No. 2 singles, Baier fell 6-2, 6-3 to Caneves. Both sets were back and forth until her opponent pulled away to win. Bjerkan dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Zhuoxuan at the No. 3 slot. She pulled within one game twice during the second set in a hard-fought battle. Armitage was narrowly defeated 6-4, 4-6, 9-11 at the No. 4 singles. She won the first set, then lost a closely contested second, before falling short in the third-set tiebreaker. Bonilla (No. 5) and Emmendorfer (No. 6) each won singles matches by walkover.
