Daemen Falls 3-0 at Pace

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. — Daemen (0-2-0) fell to Pace (2-0-0) 3-0 on Sunday at Northwell Stadium.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Pace pulled ahead 1-0 in the 31st minute with a goal by Daniel Santos, assisted by Derrick Henry.
  • Viktor Noaksson's goal at the 82:25 mark made it 2-0
  • Jevan Khan then extended Pace's lead to 3-0 with a goal in the 87th minute.
  • The first period commenced with both teams displaying strong defense. Cristopher Vasquez (Sunnyside, N.Y.), in goal for Daemen, was pivotal, making several key saves, including thwarting attempts early on.
  • In the 19th minute, Tim Florek (Marburg, Germany) and Thomas Wikan (Inderøy, Norway) fired shots that got sd by the keeper.
  • The Wildcats went down a player in the 33rd minute when Jordan Hernandez (Stockton, Calif.) was issued a red card.
  • In the second, Christian Baker fired a shot at 50:26 that narrowly missed.
  • Afonso Abreu (Leiria, Portugal) and Keegan Herrmann (Wilson, N.Y.) both had shots saved later on.
  • Florek had Daemen's final chance when he hit the woodwork in the 88th minute.
GAME NOTES
  • Florek recorded two shots, putting one on target.
  • Vasquez finished with four saves in 58 minutes. Colin Hockridge (Scarborough, Ontario) played the final 32 minutes and made two stops.
  • The Wildcats logged eight shots with five on target.
  • Daemen had four corner kicks in the contest.
  • This was the first meeting between the programs.
