ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. — Daemen (0-6-2, 0-1 ECC) opened ECC play at Molloy (3-1-2, 1-0 ECC) on Saturday, falling 7-1. The Lions scored three goals in the opening 10 minutes and never looked back. The Wildcats put six of their nine shots on target and scored their lone goal in the first half.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Afonso Abreu (Leiria, Portugal) scored his second goal of the season in the 29th minute, putting Daemen on the board and making the score 3-1. Yves Sisse (Phoenix, Ariz.) earned an assist after firing a shot that was saved, and Abreu cleaned up the rebound.
• The Lions got off to a quick start, scoring three goals in the opening 10 minutes to pull ahead 3-0. Molloy scored its first in the fourth minute. The home side followed with tallies in the seventh and 10th minutes.
• Molloy added another goal from a free kick in the 74th minute, making it 4-1.
• The Lions topped off the scoring with goals in the 82nd, 86th, and 89th minutes.
• Daemen responded to the Lions' early outbreak with multiple chances.
• Abreu also forced a diving save in the ninth minute, leading to a Wildcat corner kick.
• Sincere Noble (Baltimore, Md.) fired a shot in the 19th minute that was stopped by the keeper.
• In the 36th minute, Afonso Lino (Lisbon, Portugal) had a shot denied by the goalie.
• Abreu had the Wildcats first shot of the second half, putting one wide in the 73rd minute.
• Sisse's header was saved in the 79th minute, and Noble fired a shot high a minute later.

• Abreu now has a team-leading five points, with two goals and an assist. He also finished with a team-high three shots, putting two on goal.
• Noble recorded two shots, firing one on frame.
• Sisee earned his first point of the season with the assist. 
• Goalie Cristopher Vasquez (Sunnyside, N.Y.) made five saves in the full 90 minutes.
