2022-23 (SENIOR)
Competed in six of Daemen's seven meets ... posted two top-20 finishes ... was one of Daemen's top seven runners in four meets on the year ... finished 31st out of 82 runners and seventh on the team in the season-opening Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational with a time of 22:57.2 over the 6K race ... placed fifth on the team and 13th out of 65 runners with a time of 29:50.3 at the Daemen Alumni Invitational ... finished 16th overall and sixth on the team with a time of 29:20.4 at the Equality Invitational ... earned a personal-best 8K time of 28:22.6 when he placed 51st out of 123 runners at the Highlander Invitational ... finished 103rd overall with a time of 28:48.5 at the Canisius Alumni Classic ... posted a time of 29:44.8 to place 30th at the East Coast Conference Championships. 

2021-22 (JUNIOR)
Competed in five of seven meets ... placed 28th out of 65 runners at the season-opening Frank Dillon Memorial Tournament hosted by Le Moyne College ... finished the 6K race with a time of 22:40.1 ... turned in a career-best 8K time (29:43.5) and placed 120th out of 199 runners at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College ... also competed in the prestigious Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University and placed 163rd with a time of 30:43.6 ... started the Canisius Alumni Classic but did not finish the race ... did not compete in the East Coast Conference Championships or the NCAA Division II East Regional.

2020-21 (SOPHOMORE)
Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2019-20 (FRESHMAN)
Competed in all six of the team's meets ... made his Daemen debut at the Doug Watts Open hosted by Edinboro University and placed 57th out of 69 runners with a time of 31:53.0 ... posted his best time for an 8K race that year (31:09.1) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester ... took part in the East Conference Championships and placed 46th out of 76 runners with a time of 32:03.94 ... capped his rookie year at the NCAA Division II East Regional and ran the 10K race in 41:34.5.

BEFORE DAEMEN
Lettered in cross country and track and field for the Batavia Blue Devils and coach Richard Boyce ... earned first-team and second-team All-County honors during his career ... helped the Blue Devils win three sectional championships for indoor track and field, as well as one sectional championship for outdoor track and field ... also placed first in the indoor sectional championship meet as part of Batavia's 4x800 meter relay team ... recipient of the Coach McMullen Award for cross country, and the Clutch Performance/Coaches' Award for indoor track ... scholar athlete and honor roll student ... member of the National Honor Society.

Born John Michael Bruggman on September 9, 2000 in Syracuse, N.Y. ... son of Michael and Courtney Bruggman ... has one brother, Jack Bruggman ... hobbies include collecting comic books, attending comic conventions, drawing, painting and fishing ... chose to attend Daemen because it felt like the best way to study the major he desired while also continuing his running career ... majoring in Illustration.
