COMPLETE RESULTS

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Freshman long distance runner Jordan Weir (Cato, N.Y./Cato-Meridian) continued her solid rookie campaign today with a sixth place finish in the 5000 meter run to pace the Daemen College women's track and field team at the Roberts Wesleyan College Invitational today.  The event featured teams from around the region, ranging from community colleges up to the NCAA Division I level, including the likes of Canisius College.

Weir has consistently been one the Wildcats' top performers all season and that didn't change today as she ran her long race in 19:30.55, finishing less than four seconds out of a top-four finish.

Additional production on the track today came from freshmen Brooke Nolan (Depew, N.Y./Depew) and Casey Oliphant (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport).  Nolan came in 14th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:36.81 while Oliphant earned a 15th place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:06.91.

Sophomore Jolene Barrett (Avon, N.Y./Avon) and freshman Amanda Rusek (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois Central) finished 16th and 17th, respectively, in the 200 meter dash with times of 29.26 and 29.49 seconds.

In field events, it was junior thrower Ashley Pinette (Rowley, Mass./Westfield State University) who once again led the Wildcats.  Pinette advanced to the finals of the discus throw, placing seventh (31.43 meters) and finished 11th in the shot put (9.95 meters).

Freshman Mariah Burkhard (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) added a 16th place finish in the shot put as well (9.46 meters).

A change to the team's original schedule has them traveling to Alfred State College next Friday (April 19) instead of partaking in the SUNY Geneseo Invitational on Saturday which was cancelled by the host instituion.  Friday's meet will serve as the Wildcats' final tune up in preparation for the East Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held April 27-28.
