WASHINGTON, DC - The Daemen College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 to the University of the District of Columbia - an East Coast Conference (ECC) opponent – at our nation's capital today. With the loss, Daemen falls to 3-6 (1-5 ECC) on the season while the Firebirds picked up their fifth win of the season (5-3 overall, 4-2 ECC).
Daemen's best chance to snag a point came in No. 1 singles where sophomore
Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) came close but dropped the match 6-1, 6-3.
The Wildcats also received wins in both No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles by default.
Daemen looks to get their fourth win of the season with a non-conference road match tomorrow (Oct. 4) against Cabrini College at 12 p.m.
