Women's Tennis Falls In Non-League Action

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Daemen College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat in non-conference play today at Bentley University to fall to 4-8 overall this season.

The Daemen team of Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) and Jessica Robins (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) went down 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles slot to BU's Ludmila Yasmus and Rachel Petrini.

In singles, BU swept each matchup.  Daemen got a good fight from senior Aman Shamaa (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) before she fell to BU's Jill Kamphaus, 6-4, 6-1, in the No. 6 singles slot.

Daemen was without the services of junior Karli Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y./SUNY Geneseo) today after she missed the match with an injury.  Hollins had appeared in the top singles and doubles position in all 11 dual matches prior to today.

Daemen is back in non-conference action tomorrow versus Post University.
