WALTHAM, Mass. - The Daemen College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat in non-conference play today at Bentley University to fall to 4-8 overall this season.
The Daemen team of
Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) and
Jessica Robins (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) went down 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles slot to BU's Ludmila Yasmus and Rachel Petrini.
In singles, BU swept each matchup. Â Daemen got a good fight from senior
Aman Shamaa (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) before she fell to BU's Jill Kamphaus, 6-4, 6-1, in the No. 6 singles slot.
Daemen was without the services of junior
Karli Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y./SUNY Geneseo) today after she missed the match with an injury. Â Hollins had appeared in the top singles and doubles position in all 11 dual matches prior to today.
Daemen is back in non-conference action tomorrow versus Post University.
Â
