Women's Tennis 10/16/2016 9:13:00 PM Mike Miranto, Associate A.D. For Communications Wildcats Snap Skid With Non-League Win At Caldwell CALDWELL, N.J. - Seniors Karli Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y./SUNY Geneseo), Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) and Shaylah Iverson (Canandaigua, N.Y./Naples), and sophomore Delaney Fragale (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) all earned wins in both singles and doubles play to lead Daemen College to a 7-2 victory over Caldwell University in non-conference women's tennis action today. The win allowed Daemen to salvage a split of their weekend road trip to the New York City area, snapping a three-match slide in the process, improving to 5-9 overall this season.  It was the Wildcats' second win over CU in as many seasons.  The Wildcats had previously defeated the Cougars 5-4 on October 4, 2015. CU, an affiliate of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, concluded its fall season at 4-10 overall following today's loss. Hollins and Scanlan picked up their fourth win of the season as a pair to lead things off in first doubles.  They defeated CU's Valeria Otarola and Rebecca Ryan, 8-4. In third doubles, Iverson and Fragale teamed up on an 8-0 whitewash of Debra Pellegrino and Claudia Romano as the Wildcats established a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. Needing just three points in singles play to seal the victory, the Wildcats got five.  Hollins, Scanlan, Iverson and Fragale all won in straight sets, as did sophomore Jessica Robins (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda). Scanlan's single win gives her a team-high nine this season, increasing her program-record total to 42.  Iverson is just behind this season at 8-7 in singles action. Daemen returns home for three straight East Coast Conference matches this weekend, hosting Molloy College, Queens College and N.Y. Institute of Technology.
