Indoor Track & Field Slate Announced 11/16/2018 3:00:00 PM By: By Jake Carlson, Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant AMHERST, N.Y. - The Daemen College track and field program has officially released its' 2018-19 indoor schedule with a seven-meet slate spanning December to February. The season begins on Saturday, December 1 when the Wildcats compete in the the Brockport Alumni and Multi Invitational hosted by The College at Brockport. It marks the first of three trips to Brockport's Special Events Recreation Center this season for the Wildcats, and the earliest start in team history. The Wildcats compete in a second pre-winter break meet the following week, traveling to Houghton College for the Houghton December Classic on Friday, December 7. Following a six-week break, the January slate features three meets in as many weeks, starting off with the RIT Invitational hosted by the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y on Saturday, January 12. Daemen will then travel back to Houghton for the Highlander Invitational, the third straight year with that meet on the docket, on Friday, January 18. The final meet of the month takes place Saturday, January 26 when Daemen partakes in the Brockport Multi & Invitational. The Wildcats will begin February back in Brockport for the Brockport Thursday Night Meet on February 7. The Wildcats then finish out the season with the 2019 East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday, February 16. The conference championship meet will take place at the Ocean Breeze Complex in Staten Island, N.Y. Last season, the Wildcat men placed sixth out of eight teams at the ECC Championship while the women placed fifth out nine teams. On the men's side, all-conference honorees Zach Laird (Alexander, N.Y.), Rodney Corbin (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Lucas Canales (Ithaca, N.Y.) return to the fold. The Wildcat women return all-conference performers Taylor Haude (Rochester, N.Y.), Kyra Kress (Wayland, N.Y.) and Savannah Warner (Elma, N.Y.).
