MIKE BELLO INVITATIONAL — FULL RESULTS
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2017-18 schedule by taking part in the Mike Bello Invitational. The 15-team tournament took place yesterday and today at the par-71 Bellevue Country Club.
Roberts Wesleyan College topped the field with a two-day score of 598—12 strokes better than second place Dominican College (610). Southern New Hampshire University (611), tournament host Le Moyne College (614) and American International College (618) rounded out the top five. Daemen placed 11th with a score of 649. Junior Matt Paradis (Hooksett, N.H.) of SNHU fired a one-under-par 70 during the opening round and claimed individual medalist honors with a two-day score of 143 (+1).
Junior Ryan Gibbons (Amherst, N.Y.) paced Daemen, as he placed 25th out of 82 golfers with a two-day score of 157 (+15). He fired a 77 during opening-day action and followed up with a score of 80 today. Gibbons has now posted a round in the 70's six times out of 10 rounds this season. Senior Mitch Feneziani (West Seneca, N.Y.) also carded a 77 during the opening round, but posted an 83 today and placed 39th overall. Feneziani has now posted a round in the 70's eight times out of 10 rounds this season.
Senior Pauley Pitcher II (Baldwinsville, N.Y.), junior college transfer Tyler Hockenberger (Greece, N.Y.) and senior Max Winterburn (Harrogate, England) also competed for the Wildcats. Pitcher carded an 82 today and finished tied for 58th with a 165 (83/82). Hockenberger posted an 81 during the opening round and finished tied for 64th with a 167 (81/86). Winterburn tied for 75th with a 176 (90/86).
The Wildcats return to action Sunday with opening-day action of the Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational. The two-day tournament will be hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania and will take place at the Indiana (Pa.) Country Club.
