Warner Finishes First to Pace Wildcats

BROCKPORT MULTI & INVITATIONAL - FULL RESULTS

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's track and field team competed in the Brockport Multi and Invitational this afternoon with Savannah Warner (Elma, N.Y.) pacing the Wildcats with two-top two finishes.

Warner competed in both the 1000-meter run and the 500-meter dash. Warner topped the 1000-meter run competition with a time of 3:15:82. Taya Mucha (Lockport, N.Y.) also finished fourth in the 1000-meter run at 3:26:88.

Warner then went on to finish second out of the 13 who competed in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:24:81.

Freshman middle distance runner Amanda Bushway (East Aurora, N.Y.) also continued her opening campaign with a seventh place finish in the 400-meter dash. Of the 23 who competed, Bushway finished with a time of 1:04:72.

Freshman Nazjahe Boswell (Rochester, N.Y.) also continued adding to her freshman year campaign with a sixth place finish in the 200-meter dash among 42 competitors. Boswell finished with a time of 27.61.

Wrapping up the track events, the Daemen women finished first in the 4x400 meter relay with Amanda Bushway, Kyra Kress, Savannah Warner and Nazjahe Boswell. The women outpaced 10 different teams finishing with a time of 4:18:68.

In the field events, Taylor Haude (Rochester, N.Y.) and Kyra Kress (Wayland, N.Y.) both tied for sixth of the 15 competitors in the pole vault this afternoon both jumping 3.05 meters.

Sophomore Katja Meyer (Verona, N.Y.) finished sixth in triple jump and fourth in high jump. Meyer jumped 10.48 meters in the triple jump competition then tied her school record in the long jump of 4.93 meters.

Hannah Miller went on to finish 12th out of the 30 who competed in the shot put competition throwing 10.08 meters. Miller also competed in the 20 lb. weight throw where she finished fourth out of 27 with a throw of 12.35 meters. Betty Jones (Camillus, N.Y.) finished 11th in the weight throw with a throw of 11.84 meters.
