MATCH INFORMATION
Match #10
Daemen Wildcats (0-9, 0-4 ECC) vs. Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks (3-6, 0-4 ECC)
Saturday, Oct. 19 | 12 p.m.
Rochester, N.Y. | RWC Tennis Courts

Here's three things to know about this upcoming match for the Daemen women's tennis team...

1. Saturday's match wraps up the fall season for the Wildcats. Daemen was eliminated from conference tournament contention following losses last weekend at Molloy and Queens. Also standing at 0-4 in conference play are the Redhawks, meaning they've also been cut out of the postseason picture. The four participating teams in the ECC Championships have been determined, although seeding remains up in the air for District of Columbia (9-0, 3-0 ECC), Queens (7-0, 4-0 ECC), St. Thomas Aquinas (8-3, 3-2 ECC) and Molloy (4-4, 2-2 ECC). Daemen's 2019-20 season will resume during the spring semester. Their spring schedule has yet to be announced.

2. Despite team losses on a four-match road trip last week, junior Christina Stasiuk achieved two personal milestones as she recorded the 50th overall win (combined singles/doubles) and the 30th singles win of her career. Her 50th overall win - a 6-2 doubles win while teaming with Lena Gruber vs. Molloy - made her just the fifth player in team history to reach that total. Her milestone singles win came in the same match as she downed Montaine Le Goupil-Maier 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 to become just the fourth player in team history with 30 singles wins. With still a season-and-a-half to go in her career, Stasiuk ranks among Daemen's all-time leaders in overall wins (5th), singles wins (4th), singles matches (4th), doubles wins (5th) and doubles matches (5th).

3. When they meet Saturday, the Wildcats will be looking for their first-ever win over the rival Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan. RWC has emerged victorious in the eight prior meetings which date back to Daemen's inaugural season (2012-13). The teams engaged in back-to-back tight contests in 2015 and 2016 with the Redhawks scoring identical 6-3 wins in each, representing the closest margin of the eight all-time contests. RWC was a 7-0 winner when the teams last met on Sept. 11, 2018. The Redhawks come into the match having dropped three straight matches, including a tight 4-3 decision against Molloy this past weekend. Of their three wins this season, two have come against Division III opponents (Brockport and Houghton).
