CANISIUS ALUMNI CLASSIC - FULL RESULTS
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Redshirt-sophomore Kassandra Nolet (Fort Erie, Ont.) and sophomore Sarah Golas (Alden, N.Y.) each earned top-50 finishes to pace the Daemen College women's cross country team at the Canisius Alumni Classic held today at Delaware Park. Daemen placed eighth out of the 13 competing teams, edging out Division I opponents University at Buffalo (ninth), Youngstown State University (10th) and Detroit Mercy College (12th).
Cornell University, the No. 8 ranked team in this week's Northeast Region poll by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), topped the team standings today. The Big Red amassed just 18 points after their five scorers all finished in the top-six individually. Cornell's Annie Glodek finished first out of 128 competitors with a 5K time of 18:24.5.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Nolet came in as Daemen's top finisher for the fourth consecutive race, and earned her third top-50 finish of the season. She placed 39th with a time of 20:12.7.
- Golas established a new personal-best 5K time (20:22.2) and placed 46th. It marks her third top-50 finish of the season. Her previous career-best 5K time (20:38.2) came at the 2018 Canisius Alumni Classic.
- Junior Savannah Warner (Elma, N.Y.) came in 53rd place with a time of 20:38.9. She's now been among Daemen's top-five finishers in 18 consecutive races dating back to the 2017 season.
- Juniors Taya Mucha (Lockport, N.Y.) and Ashley Dusza (Alden, N.Y.) also figured in the scoring for the Wildcats today. Mucha placed 60th with a personal-best time of 21:02.1, shaving 26 seconds off her previous top time. Dusza finished 93rd with a season-best time of 22:17.6. She's now been among Daemen's top-five finishers in the last 11 races she's competed in.
- Junior Mackenzie Tubbs (Elmira, N.Y.) and sophomore Mia Picciano (Auburn, N.Y.) also competed for the Wildcats today. Tubbs placed 104th with a season-best time of 22:58.6. It marked her first sub-23-minute 5K since the 2017 season.

The Wildcats are back in action next Saturday, Oct. 26 at the East Coast Conference Championships held on the campus of New York Tech.
