BROCKPORT THURSDAY NIGHT MEET - FULL RESULTS

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's track and field team competed in the Brockport Thursday Night Meet held tonight at the Special Events and Recreation Center on the campus of The College of Brockport. The Wildcats placed third out of nine teams.

Sprinters Rodney Corbin (Williamsville, N.Y.) and Ethan Majewski (Pendleton, N.Y.) both turned in solid efforts for the Wildcats during the track portion of the event. Corbin posted his third first-place finish of the season in the 60-meter dash, as he topped the field of eight runners in the finals with a time of 7.16 seconds. Majewski placed third with a time of 7.25. Both runners also competed in the 200-meter dash, with Majewski placing second (23.61) and Corbin finishing third (23.64).

Sophomore Mike Swiniarski (Akron, N.Y.) competed in both the mile run and the 3,000-meter run. He placed second in the mile with a time of 4:37.67, just two seconds behind Jason Ziskind of Rochester Institute of Technology. He followed up with a seventh-place showing in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:44.37. Redshirt sophomore Nate Louk (Jane Lew, W. Va.) posted top-10 finish in the mile, as he placed seventh with a time of 4:48.81, while junior Cale Silvestri (Elma, N.Y.) placed 11th in the 3,000 meters (9:59.09). The Wildcats fared well in the 400 meters, as freshman Zach Brainard (Lancaster, N.Y.) and seniors Jonny Schmidt (Clarence Center, N.Y.) and Drew Greenway (Brooklyn, N.Y.) all posted top-10 finishes. Brainard placed 7th (54.93), followed closely by Schmidt who placed eighth (55.32) and Greenway who came in 10th (55.59).

Junior thrower Sullivan Keller (Alden, N.Y.) continued his solid season to highlight the Daemen participants during the field events. He placed third in the shot put with a throw of 14.33 meters and also finished eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.02 meters.

The Wildcats close out the indoor season on Feb. 16 when they travel to Staten Island, N.Y. to take part in the East Coast Conference Championships.
