GENESEO EARLY SEASON INVITATIONAL - FULL RESULTS
GENESEO, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the State University of New York at Geneseo Early Season Invitational held today at the Geneseo Track.Â
After being named to the All-ECC second-team last season, sprinter Rodney Corbin (Williamsville, N.Y.) placed second out the 58 competitors in the 100-meter dash today, crossing the finish line in 10.96 seconds. The time put Corbin just off his team-record pace of 10.89 seconds set at this same meet last spring. Freshman Ethan Majewski (Pendleton, N.Y.) placed third with a time of 11.11 seconds.
Majewski went on to set a team record for the Wildcats in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a time of 22.55 seconds. He placed fifth out of the 69 runners, and shattered the old record of 22.90 seconds set by Sam Rugg in April of 2013.Â
Junior Sullivan Keller (Alden, N.Y.) started his outdoor season with two top-four finishes after being named All-ECC last year. Keller placed first in the javelin throw out of 46 candidates with a 46.07-meter throw. He then placed fourth out of 47 contestants in the shot put with a 14.35-meter throw.
Mike Swiniarski (Akron, N.Y.) finished 22nd out of 72 runners in the 5,000-meter run. Swiniarski finished with a time of 16:13:49.
