Allegany County Classic - FULL RESULTS
ALFRED, N.Y. - The Daemen College women's track and field team finished with seven first-place finishes today at the Allegany County Classic co-hosted by Alfred State University and Houghton College.
Danielle Juby (Ilion, N.Y.) finished in the top spot of the 400 meter run today with a time of 1:04.95. Juby competed against four other runners.
The 4x400 meter team featuring Nazjahe Boswell (Rochester, N.Y.), Monahe Marchione (Buffalo, N.Y.), Juby and Kassandra Nolet (Fort Erie, Ont.) went on to take the top spot in the event. They competed against two others teams finishing with a time of 4:35.11 beating out the second-place Alfred State team by almost 20 seconds. Marchione added a record-setting run in the 300-meter dash, finishing sixth with a time of 48.11 seconds.Â
Katja Meyer (Verona, N.Y.), an All-ECC selection during the indoor season, competed in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. Meyer placed in first in the long and triple jump while placing second in the high jump. She finished with a long jump of 4.88 meters beating out eight others, a triple jump of 10.58 meters beating out two others and a high jump of 1.45 meters out of three other contestants. Meyer currently holds the high jump record of 1.47 meters after setting it last year at the Alfred State Invitational.
Savannah Warner (Elma, N.Y.) also had two first-place finishes in both the 1,500 meter run and the 800 meter run. Warner finished the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5:09.92 beating out four other runners followed by a time of 2:30.18 in the 800 meter run beating out nine other runners. Taya Mucha (Lockport, N.Y.) finished second in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5:20.81 while Nolet finished fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:40.75.
Boswell competed in the 100 meter dash finishing first out of two runners with a time of 13.29 seconds. Boswell broke the team record last week at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational with a time of 12.39 seconds.Â
Betty Jones (Camillus, N.Y.) finished second in the shot put to wrap up the day for the Wildcats. Jones had a throw of 8.74 meters and competed against four other throwers.
The Wildcats will travel down to Slippery Rock, Pa. for the Dave Labor Invitational on Saturday, April 6 beginning at 9 a.m.
