Here's three things to know about upcoming matches for the Daemen men's tennis team...

1. Daemen looks to get back in the win column when they host back-to-back East Coast Conference matches against St. Thomas Aquinas early this week. It marks the final home contests in the career of senior Jose Williamson III. The Minneapolis native picked up his 45th career victory (combined singles/doubles) in a 5-4 Wildcat loss at RIT last week. He's now tied with 2017 graduate Adam Kerr for seventh on the program's all-time wins list. Williamson also ranks eighth for singles wins (16) and seventh for doubles wins (29). With one more doubles victory, he'll become only the seventh player in team history to reach 30 in a career. Williamson will be recognized in a brief ceremony prior to Tuesday's match.

2. Sophomore Ben Davis and freshman Sam Greco continue to shine as Daemen's No. 1 doubles pair. The duo improved to 5-2 together this season after they breezed to an 8-0 win at RIT. Three of their victories have come against the highly-touted Knights of Queens. And, it hasn't been a case where they just seem to have the number of a specific doubles pair from Queens. They've defeated three different duos, including Moritz Borges and Mariano Bibiloni on April 10 (6-4), Tim Ostheimer and Eduardo Marino on April 11 (6-2) and Bibiloni and Kareem Rashad on April 18 (6-4). The success of Davis and Greco has placed them in the conversation among the East Region's best tandems.

3. After fielding a 16-player roster in 2019-20, St. Thomas Aquinas is going with six players this spring. The roster includes returners Alvara BarrancoMatthew Corsi and Enej Hasicevic as well as three newcomers. Five of the six players hail from overseas. After having the start of their season delayed due to COVID-19 protocols, the Spartans have gone 3-3 thus far, picking up non-conference wins over West Chester (6-1) and Kutztown (6-1) to go with a 7-0 win over Daemen in ECC play. The Spartans are coming off two losses to conference-leading Queens, falling by 5-2 and 4-3 finals.
