BACK IN ACTION

Daemen hosts crosstown rival D'Youville in an East Coast Conference match Saturday (Oct. 15) afternoon. The game was originally set to be played at Karrer Field on the campus of The Park School in Amherst, but was moved to the athletic stadium at Williamsville South High School. The start time for the game has also been moved up to 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Graduate student Alessandro Otte scored two goals to lead Le Moyne to a 4-1 victory over Daemen this past Wednesday at Ted Grant Field on the Le Moyne campus.
The host Dolphins took control early, as they scored twice in the first 1:13 of the game. Sophomore Michael Sparkes headed home a pass from redshirt sophomore Jack Goodrich at the 1:04 mark, and the Dolphins struck again just nine seconds later when freshman Cameron Stuart netted his team-leading fourth goal of the year. Le Moyne increased its lead to 3-0 just over five minutes later when Otte converted a penalty kick. Otte's second tally in the 29th minute, off a feed from Stuart, gave the hosts a commanding 4-0 lead. The Dolphins took a 4-0 lead into halftime and maintained that lead until the Wildcats got a goal from senior Derek Bartlo (Williamsville, N.Y.) with under five minutes to play. The Dolphins posted a 14-6 advantage in total shots and an 8-4 edge in shots on goal. Graduate student Marcos Lerma Escobar (Zaragoza, Spain) started in net for the Wildcats and stopped four shots before giving way to junior Harry Firth (Reading, England) in the 73rd minute. Firth did not register a save over the final 17:22.
