HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Daemen University women's track and field team opened its 2022-23 indoor season by taking part in the Houghton December Classic held Friday evening at the Kerr-Pegula Field House on the campus of Houghton University.

A program-record effort by sophomore Alyssa Amirato (Depew, N.Y.) in the triple jump highlighted the evening for the Wildcats.

She placed 12th out of 50 entrants in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.33 seconds, and finished ninth out of 28 in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.77 seconds—narrowly missing the program-record of 9.47 set by Sam Carro at the 2018 Highlander Invitational.
