AMHERST, N.Y. – Junior Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) of the Daemen University women's tennis team has been honored by the East Coast Conference for her outstanding play this season, as she was one of 12 players to earn all-conference recognition. The official announcement of All-ECC teams was made today in a press release from the conference's headquarters on Long Island.

Scime was one of six first-team selections. She becomes the first player in program history to collect first-team All-ECC honors. A second-team selection last year, she also becomes the first two-time all-conference selection in program history. Scime, current teammate Frida Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) and former standouts Christina Stasiuk and Karli Hollins are the only players in program history to garner All-ECC recognition. Rubio earned the nod in 2020-21 when she was also named the ECC Rookie of the Year.

Scime picked up where where left off following her solid sophomore season. Playing the No. 2 position in the Wildcats' singles lineup, Scime notched a team-high 11 victories this fall. She put together a six-match winning streak during the year and finished the regular season with an 11-4 singles record. She added eight doubles wins as well, all of which came while paired with Rubio in the No. 1 position of Daemen's lineup.

Scime went 15-6 in singles play last year as a sophomore. Her 15 wins last year rank as the second most in a single season in program history, behind only Stasiuk who posted 18 wins during the 2017-18 season. She recorded her 34th career singles win during a loss to St. Thomas Aquinas College in the regular-season finale and is now 29-11 in her last 40 singles matches dating back to the end of her freshman season. She ranks fifth in singles wins (34) and sixth in combined singles and doubles wins (58) among Daemen's all-time leaders.

Scime is joined on the All-ECC First Team by Ebba Rosberg and Elita Silins of St. Thomas Aquinas and Caroline Hany-Fawzy, Maja Makal and Apolline Lamy of Queens.

The All-ECC second team consists of Eva Rivoal and Saga Berggren of Queens, Elise Semmartin and Samanta Robles of St. Thomas Aquinas and Mariona Franco Martin and Laura Marie of the District of Columbia. Rosberg was also named the ECC Player of the Year, while Polina Zelentsova of the District of Columbia was selected Rookie of the Year.
