AMHERST, N.Y. – Junior Frida Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) and sophomore Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) of the Daemen University women's tennis team have earned 2022-23 Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), recognizing their combined achievements on the court and in the classroom.

Rubio completed her third season with the Wildcats this year. Playing No. 1 singles throughout the year, she posted a 7-10 overall singles record and also went 7-10 in doubles play. It marked the third-straight season she has posted at least seven wins in singles play. The East Coast Conference (ECC) Rookie of the Year and second team All-ECC pick as a freshman in 2021-22, she has played in 45 singles matches over her career and ranks seventh in career singles wins at Daemen with 24. She also ranks seventh in combined singles and doubles wins (46) among Daemen's all-time leaders. A Business Administration major with a focus on operations and supply chain management, she has maintained a 3.75 cumulative grade point average.

Scime enjoyed an outstanding second season with the program this year. Playing primarily No. 2 singles throughout the year, she went 15-6 in singles play and 9-9 in doubles play. She posted a four-match winning streak three times during the year and is now 18-7 in her last 25 singles matches dating back to the end of last season. Her 15 wins this season rank as the second most in a single season in program history, behind only Christina Stasiuk who posted 18 wins during the 2017-18 season. A second-team All-ECC pick and team MVP this year, Scime has moved into the Top-10 in both combined singles and doubles wins (39) and career singles victories (23) among Daemen's all-time leaders. A Business Administration major with a focus on human resource management, she has maintained a 3.82 cumulative grade point average.

Daemen went 6-12 overall and 2-3 in ECC play this year. The Wildcats qualified for the four-team ECC Championship tournament for the third-straight season.
