WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. -- The Daemen University women's cross country team placed seven runners in the top-10 at the Daemen Alumni Invitational to win their first race of the season. Daemen alumni
Kassandra Nolet and Mackenzie Lowe finished first and second in the race, with Nolet pacing the way with a time of 18:23.7.
For the second straight race, fifth year senior
Hannah Thomas (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) led the Wildcats, finishing third out of 20 runners with a PR time of 19:28.9. Senior
Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y.) finished fourth overall at 19:34.4 for a personal best 5K time.Â
Sophomore
Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) placed sixth with a time of 20:31.7, just ahead of junior
Emma Cain (Lockport, N.Y.) with a seventh-place time of 20:53.6. Sophomore
Hayley Pizur (Grand Island, N.Y.) rounded out the Daemen scoring with an eighth place finish at 22:42.6.
Daemen finished with a first-place team score of 18, while Hilbert (42) finished second.Â
NOTABLE
- Thomas set a PR for the second straight race, knocking 17 seconds off her previous best 5K time (19:46.3) set at the 2022 ECC Championships.
- Bailey broke her personal best 5K time this afternoon, shaving 11 seconds off her previous PR (19:45.1) set at the 2021 ECC Championships.Â
- Senior Haley Hinds (Blossvale, N.Y.) finished 10th overall with a time of 23:29.9.Â
- Senior Neissa Raymond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) placed 14th at 25:16.7.Â
