ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Daemen University women's cross country team placed seventh out of 15 teams at the 2025 Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday morning at the Matt St. James Cross Country Trails on the campus of Roberts Wesleyan.

The Wildcats finished with a team score of 188 to place seventh on the day. SUNY Geneseo placed their top five scoring runners all within the top 15 and posted a score of 41 to win the meet. Host Roberts Wesleyan placed the first and third place runners in the race and finished second overall with 68 points. RIT and Cortland tied for third with a team score of 113.Â
For the second consecutive race, senior
Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) finished first on the team, placing 14th out of 183 runners with a PR time of 18:58.0, shaving over 10 seconds off her previous best (19:11.5) set at the 2023 East Coast Conference Championships.Â

Christa Oates (Tonawanda, N.Y.) placed second on the team and 29th overall with a time of 19:32.3. Sophomore
Lia Brasacchio (Victor, N.Y.) finished 34th overall with a PR time of 19:40.2, shaving nearly 30 seconds off her previous best time (20:08.9) set at the 2024 Harry F. Anderson Invitational. Senior
Madeline Straub (Olean, N.Y.) placed fourth on the team with a PR time of 20:38.4 to finish 80th overall. Straub's PR time is two seconds faster (20:40.5) than her previous best, set at the 2022 Daemen Alumni Invitational. Sophomore
Kylie Piekarski (Lancaster, N.Y.) rounded out the Wildcat scorers with a time of 20:47.0 to place 85th overall.

Hayley Pizur (Grand Island, N.Y.) placed 116th with a time of 21:43.7, and freshman
Grace Tag (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) finished 135th with a time of 22:34.5 on the day.
The Wildcats are off for two weeks but return to the course on Oct. 11 at the Highlander Invitational in Houghton, N.Y.
