HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Daemen women's track and field team returned to the Kerr-Pegula Field House on the campus of Houghton University to compete in the Highlander Invitational on Saturday.
Sophomore
Kristen Oliver (Massena, N.Y.) placed first in the weight throw while on the track, graduate student
Camryn Bailey (Geneva, N.Y) placed second in the mile to highlight the Wildcats efforts.
HIGHLIGHTS
• Beginning with the field events, Oliver finished in first out of 28 throwers with a toss of 14.72 meters on her third throw of the day.
• Also in the field, senior
Alyssa Amirato (Depew, N.Y.) placed second in the triple jump with a season-best 10.02 meters.
• On the track, junior
Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.) placed fourth in the first round of the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 10.16 seconds. She also placed fourth in the final as she clocked in at 9.93 seconds.
• Bailey continued her hot start to the indoor season as she placed second in the mile (5:24.43).
• Daemen had two top ten finishers in the 800 meters with Bailey finishing in ninth (2:32.88) and freshman
Lia Brasacchio (Victor, N.Y.) coming in 10th (2:33.15).
• Junior Patsy
Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) paced the Wildcats efforts in the 3000 meters as she finished in fifth place (11:33.10).
UP NEXT
The Wildcats are back in action from Jan. 31 - Feb. 1 in Youngstown, Ohio, at the YSU Mid Major Invitational hosted by Youngstown State.
