AMHERST, N.Y. — The East Coast Conference released its track & field weekly honors on Tuesday. Daemen distance runner Patsy Oberholzer (Greece, N.Y.) was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week.

Oberholzer recorded a personal-best time of 10:47.77 in the 3,000m at the Highlander Invitational, earning her first gold medal of the season. She won in a field of 14 runners and shaved three seconds off her previous best time.

It marked the third time during the indoor season that Oberholzer has logged a top-five finish and her second medal performance. The senior placed fourth in the 3,000m at the Brockport Invitational and took third in the 5,000m at the Houghton December Classic. It is also the second time in her track career that she has won an event, with the last coming in a victory at the Brockport Multi & Invitational (outdoor season) during the 2023 campaign.

Oberholzer is earning the first track weekly award of her career. In cross country, she was a five-time ECC Rookie of the Week during the 2022 season.

The Wildcats are back in action this weekend, competing at the YSU Mid Major Invitational in Youngstown, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday.
