Johnson and Kamagate Lead Wildcats at Brockport Multi

BROCKPORT, N.Y.  — The Daemen men's track and field team competed at the Brockport Multi on Sunday.

The Wildcats' performances were highlighted by a second-place finish by CJ Johnson (Baltimore, Md.) in the 5,000-meter run and two fourth-place results from Adam Kamagate (Hilton, N.Y.).

 HIGHLIGHTS 
  • Johnson earned a silver medal in the 5,000-meter run with a program record time of 15:21.99. He finished six seconds ahead of the third-place finisher. 
  • Kamagate finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.77 seconds. His time ranked seventh in the program record book.
  • Kamagate also placed fourth in the 400m hurdles, posting a time of 57.79, good for ninth in program history. 
  • Ethan Keating (Wooster, Ohio) placed 11th in the 1500 with a time of 4:11.53
  • In the 400m dash, Ibrahim Hakizimana (Rochester, N.Y.) came in 17th, posting a time of 53.33.
  • Seth Connery (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) placed 18th in the 200m dash, crossing the finish line in 23.41 seconds. 
  • Daemen's 4x100m relay team of Avon Adams (Tonawanda, N.Y.), Owen Dernbach (Alden, N.Y.), Zayvion Davis (Lansing, N.Y.), and Connery took seventh with a time of 44.83 seconds.
