EAST BOSTON, MA - Sophomore striker
Kyle Clifford (West Seneca, NY/St. Francis HS) recorded the first hat trick of his career as the Daemen Wildcats opened the American Mideast Conference portion of their 2011 schedule with a 9-0 pasting of the host Fisher Falcons. With the win, Daemen improves to 2-2, 1-0 the season.
Clifford opened the scoring in the 13th minute and added two second half tallies, the latter coming on a penalty kick in the 60th minute, to complete the signature game of his career to date.
The Wildcats also got two goals from senior
Alvaro Orozco (Barranquilla, Colombia) as well as single markers from sophomore Zakariah Hal (Wells, England/The Blue School), senior
Nate Griffiths (South Wales, NY/Iroquois Central HS) and senior
Juan Sebastian Esguerra (Bogota, Colombia). The team was also credited with the third goal of the game as Fisher put the ball in its' own net.
Esguerra added a pair of assists and Griffiths contributed one helper as well. Additional assists were credited to sophomore
Devin Kinney (Hinsdale, NY/Hinsdale Central HS), sophomore
Josh Radecki (South Wales, NY/Iroquois Central HS) and freshman
Stephen Linderman (Tonawanda, NY/Tonawanda HS).
The Wildcats have a short turn-around time as they travel to Hamburg on Monday for road tilt vs. Hilbert College.
