Box Score

ROCHESTER HILLS, MICH.- The Daemen College men's soccer team fell 3-1 today in a matchup against the Rochester College Warriors, a dual-member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The Warriors, who are ranked No. 4 in the latest USCAA national poll, jump to 10-2-0 on the season while Daemen falls to 3-9-0.

Matt Gross got back-to-back goals for the Warriors in the first half  to put Rochester on top 2-0 before heading into halftime. Gross got assists from Justin Kane, Brandon Horvath and Joey Beshara on his markers.

Five minutes into the second half Cole Beale (
Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) scored his first career goal for Daemen off a feed from teammate Kyle Clifford (West Seneca, N.Y./St. Francis) to bring the Wildcats within one. It looked as if the deficit would remain at just one but Rochester found themselves back up by two when Joey Beshara scored the final goal of the game in the 64th minute.

Rochester launched 11 total shots and placed nine of them on frame. Daemen goalkeeper Matt Daddario (Amherst, N.Y./Sweet Home) made six saves between the pipes for the Wildcats.  His counterpart, Alex Brown, made eight saves to earn the victory for the Warriors.

Daemen will look to regroup before they face Cleary University tomorrow (Oct. 13) at Page Field for a 2 p.m. matchup.
