Daemen Blanks D'Youville 8-0

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The Daemen College men's tennis team had sweet revenge over D'Youville College winning 8-0 at the Miller Tennis Center courts this evening.

"After a disappointing loss to D'Youville last year, I really wanted to make sure that we came out in the doubles fast and we did that," coach Stephen Beatty said." I am super proud of the way everyone played today."

Avenging their 6-3 loss from last year, the Wildcats swept the match as freshmen Kiran Kudaravalli (Milton Keynes, United Kingdom / Ashlyns) and John LeMar (North Tonawanda, N.Y. / North Tonawanda) led the way by defeating D'Youville's Wei Yen Huang and Rob Amabile 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles slot.

Gregory Lowe (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) and John Wilson (Seneca Falls, N.Y. / Mynderse) took the No. 2 doubles match beating John Nazzarett and Jim Moran 8-3. Sophomore  Adam Kerr (Penfield, N.Y. / McQuaid Jesuit)) and junior Alex White (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) defeated Dan Thompson and Karl Mansfield 8-0 in No. 3 doubles.
Lowe led the charge in the No. 1 singles slot, defeating Huang 7-6, 4-0.

The Wildcats will be back in action this Sunday (Feb. 22) when they host Lemoyne College, a member of NCAA Division II, at the Miller Tennis Center for a 3:30 p.m. match.
