Men's Track & Field Places Four On All-Conference Teams

Keller Racks Up First-Team Honors In Three Events

AMHERST, N.Y. - Sullivan Keller (Alden, N.Y.) of the Daemen College men's track and field team has been named to the All-East Conference First Team in three separate events, headlining a quartet of Wildcat athletes who garnered All-ECC recognition for the 2019 outdoor season. Keller was joined on the All-ECC First Team by freshman pole-vaulter Dan Fogle (Lockport, N.Y.), while sophomore Mike Swiniarski (Akron, N.Y.) and freshman Henry Moffitt (Sydney, Australia) were named to the All-ECC Second Team.

The selection of All-ECC athletes is based on individual finishes at the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet which was held April 20 at Farmingdale State College. Individuals finishing first and second in their respective events earn first-team honors, while third and fourth place finishers earn second-team accolades.

Keller, a 6-foot-3 thrower, capped an outstanding junior season by placing second in the shot put (14.40 meters), hammer (47.09 meters) and javelin (41.70 meters) at the conference championship meet. He becomes just the second athlete in team history to garner All-ECC honors in three events during the same outdoor season, and the first to do on the first team (former teammate Shaquille Corrica was a second-team All-ECC performer in the high jump, triple jump and long jump last season).

Keller has set new team records multiple times this season in both the hammer and shot put. He ends his junior season as the team record-holder in both events (shot put: 14:53 meters at the Dave Labor Invitational; hammer: 47.09 meters at ECC Championship). Keller racked up 18 top-10 finishes out of 20 events that he entered during the 2019 outdoor season. The addition of three All-ECC accolades today brings his career total to eight, including both indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

Fogle, who earned second-team All-ECC honors during the indoor season this past winter, cleared 3.10 meters to place second in the pole vault competition. He becomes the third Daemen pole-vaulter to earn all-conference honors for an outdoor season, and the first since Robert Ralyea in 2015.

Swiniarski placed third in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:06.52 to earn the first all-conference accolade of his collegiate track and field career. It's the third time in the last four seasons that Daemen has had an all-conference performer at the 10,000-meter distance as Swiniarski joins former first-teamers Lucas Canales (2018) and Jeremy Rushok (2016). Swiniarski, who also earned second-team All-ECC honors during the cross country season last fall, becomes just the fourth athlete in team history to be an all-conference runner in cross country and outdoor track during the same academic year, joining Zach Eustance (2013-14), Kevin Roginson (2015-16) and Rushok (2015-16).

Lastly there's Moffitt who made an immediate impact at the conference championship meet, the first track and field competition of his collegiate career. Moffitt placed third in the high jump by clearing 1.83 meters, an effort that matched the team record set by Nick Marlin in 2015. Moffitt came over to the track and field team for the final two meets of the season after competing as a member of Daemen's inaugural men's volleyball team.
