13 Daemen Tracksters Named To All-ECC Teams

AMHERST, N.Y. - Thirteen track and field student-athletes from Daemen University have earned All-East Coast Conference honors for the 2022 outdoor season. The announcement of All-ECC teams was made today from league headquarters on Long Island. The selection of All-ECC athletes is based on individual performances at the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championships which were held May 8 at Roberts Wesleyan College.

MATTHEWS ALL-ECC
ERIK MATTHEWS | SR. | GALWAY, N.Y.
Matthews is the lone Daemen athlete to earn All-ECC honors in three events... placed first in the 400 meter hurdles with a program record time of 56.08 seconds... placed second in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.31 seconds... also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.25 meters... now a six-time All-ECC honoree in his career... earned three All-ECC First Team selections in 2021 (110 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, triple jump)... earlier today, Matthews was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
   
COLCA ALL-ECC
MARCY COLCA | FR. | GETZVILLE, N.Y.
Colca became the first Daemen athlete to win two events at the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championships since Mackenzie Donahue in 2017... Colca placed first in the 10,000 meters with a time of 39:34.81 and finished first in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:54.69... now a three-time ECC medalist, she also placed first in the 5,000 meter run at the ECC Indoor Track and Field Championships this past February... Colca is a five-time All-ECC recipient (one for cross country, two for indoor track and field, two for outdoor track and field) and she was recently named Daemen's Female Newcomer of the Year.
   
AMIRATO ALL-ECC
ALYSSA AMIRATO | FR. | DEPEW, N.Y.
Amirato became the first Daemen female to place first in the long jump at the conference championship meet as she posted a personal best leap of 4.92 meters to edge out defending champion Hailee Lowe of Roberts Wesleyan (4.89 meters)... Amirato also placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 10.66 meters - the fourth longest in program history for an outdoor event... now a three-time All-ECC recipient after earning Second Team honors for the indoor long jump this past winter.
   
MOFFITT ALL-ECC
HENRY MOFFITT | SR. | SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
For the second straight season, Moffitt earned All-ECC First Team honors in the triple and high jumps... Moffitt placed second in both events, clearing 1.78 meters in the high jump and leaping 12.31 meters in the triple jump... a multi-sport athlete who also competes in volleyball, Moffitt is now a five-time All-ECC recipient.
   
BAILEY ALL-ECC
CAMRYN BAILEY | SO. | GENEVA, N.Y.
Bailey posted a personal best time of 18:48.89 to place second in the 5,000 meters behind Colca... also placed third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 5:02.70... now a four-time All-ECC recipient, but these accolades are her first as an individual (earlier selections were for part of relay teams).
   
JONES ALL-ECC
BETTY JONES | GR. | CAMILLUS, N.Y.
Jones defended her title in the hammer throw, placing first with a program record toss of 40.86 meters... now a four-time All-ECC recipient, including three selections for the outdoor hammer throw... earlier today, Jones was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
   
GOLAS ALL-ECC
SARAH GOLAS | SR. | ALDEN, N.Y.
Golas placed second in the 10,000 meters for a second consecutive season, posting a personal best time of 39:59.85... now a three-time All-ECC selection. 
   
CLEMENTI ALL-ECC
DOMINIC CLEMENTI | JR. | BARKER, N.Y.
Clementi was the lone Daemen entrant in the 1,500 meters and he placed third with a program record time of 4:05.40... marks his second All-ECC selection after earning Second Team honors during the 2021 outdoor season for the 400 meter dash.
   
PAVELSKI ALL-ECC
PAIGE PAVELSKI | SO. | EAST AURORA, N.Y.
Pavelski, the 2021 ECC shot put champ, nearly defended her title but ended up placing second with a personal best throw of 11.39 meters... now a three-time All-ECC selection, including two selections for the shot put.
   
BAHGAT ALL-ECC
HESSEN BAHGAT | SO. | FREDONIA, N.Y.
Bahgat placed third in pole vault after clearing 2.80 meters... now a two-time All-ECC selection, both in pole vault.
   
CAIN ALL-ECC
EMMA CAIN | FR. | LOCKPORT, N.Y.
Cain ran the 10,000 meters for the first time in her career and helped Daemen go 1-2-3 in the event, placing third with a time of 40:15.19... marks the second All-ECC selection of her career after earning Second Team honors last fall for cross country.
   
HARRINGTON ALL-ECC
ALYSSA HARRINGTON | SO. | TONAWANDA, N.Y.
Harrington placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.39 meters... now a three-time All-ECC selection, including two for the outdoor triple jump.
   
THOMAS ALL-ECC
HANNAH THOMAS | SR. | CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y.
Thomas placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.59... also earned All-ECC Second Team honors for the indoor 800 meters earlier this year.
