LAST TIME OUT Daemen fell 2-1 to Molloy last Saturday. Macayla Hansen (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored a late goal, but the Wildcats could not find an equalizer. Daemen had another strong showing by goalkeeper Becca Schultz (Grand Island, N.Y.), who recorded 12 saves. The Wildcats also fell 3-2 at Saint Anselm last Wednesday. Daemen struck first in the 10th minute with Kaitlyn Wright (Geneva, N.Y.) finding the back of the net, assisted by Taylor Fiegel (Lockport, N.Y.). After the Hawks scored three straight to pull ahead 3-1, Fiegel scored her first career goal in the 89th minute to make it 3-2, but it was too late for the Wildcats. ROOKIE RACKING UP Following her goal last Saturday, Hansen has 10 points with four goals and two assists. The freshman sits third on the team in goals and points. She also found the back of the net in victories over St. Thomas Aquinas (Sept. 20), Roberts Wesleyan (Sept. 24 and Oct. 1). She logged three points (1G, 1A) in the first game against the Redhawks. SUPER SCHULTZ Schultz currently leads the nation in saves (123). She leads the ECC in save percentage (.891) and saves per game (9.46), also ranking third nationally in the latter. The senior made double-digit saves in both of Daemen's games last week, marking it as her fifth straight game with double-digit saves. She stopped 10 shots against St. Anslem last Wednesday and logged 12 saves against Molloy Saturday. Schultz posted an .815 save percentage combined in the two games. IN THE RANKINGS Miranto currently leads the ECC in goals (11), points (27), and game-winning goals (7). She is tied for second in assists (5). The senior also sits tied for third nationally in goals and tied for second in points, while ranking first in GWG. Wright is fourth in points (14) and is tied for fifth in goals (6). Hansen ranks tied for eighth in goals (4). SCOUTING D'YOUVILLE (2-8-2, 1-3-0 ECC) The Saints are winless in their previous four matches (0-3-1) and are coming off a 2-1 loss at home to St. Thomas Aquinas last Saturday. D'Youville also dropped a 2-0 non-conference match at Goldey-Beacom last Wednesday. Manta Socada leads the Saints in goals (2) and points (5), having also logged one assist. Goalkeeper Alegra Black has started eight games, posting a 2-5-1 record, a .735 save percentage, and a 1.73 goals-against average. SERIES HISTORY The Wildcats are undefeated against the Saints with an 8-0 record. Last season, Daemen picked up a 2-0 win in Amherst thanks to two goals from Miranto and five saves from Schultz. The Wildcats have also shut out D'Youville in three straight contests.
