Schlesselman Collects ECC Rookie of the Week Honors

AMHERST, N.Y. — Sadie Schlesselman (Lancaster, N.Y.) of the Daemen women's lacrosse team was named ECC Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday. 

Schlesselman logged nine points with six goals and three assists in two games. She scored twice in an 18-8 win over Gannon on Wednesday. Schlesselman then led the Wildcats with a season high of four goals, three assists, and seven points against Franklin Pierce on Saturday. The freshman also posted two caused turnovers and scooped up a ground ball in the contest.

The attacker currently has 18 points with seven goals and 11 assists. She sits second on the team in helpers, fourth in goals, and fifth in points.

This is the first time in her career that Schlesselman has earned a weekly award from the conference, and it's the third time this season that Daemen has earned one. 

The Wildcats take on Southern New Hampshire today at 3 p.m. before returning home to host the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday at 12 p.m. in their ECC opener.
