BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Daemen College men's track and field team continued its 2018 outdoor season today by partaking in the University at Buffalo Invitational held at UB stadium. It marked the third consecutive year that Daemen has participated in the meet which took place less than five miles away from campus.

On the track, Daemen had many athletes score in the top ten in their respective events. Alonzo Rodriguez-Spencer (Buffalo, N.Y.) was the sole first-place finisher for the Wildcats. Freshman sensation Rodney Corbin (Williamsville, N.Y.) placed third behind two Division I athletes from UB in the 100 meter dash. Corbin crossed the finish line in 11.26 seconds. Andrew Greenaway (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a solid day in the sprints as well. He finished sixth in the 100 meter race with a time of 12.02 seconds and seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.06 seconds.

Sophomore long distance specialist Lucas Canales (Ithaca, N.Y.) took part in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and ran to a fifth-place finish in 10:45.42.

In field events, Daemen was hugely successful in throwing events. Zach Laird (Alexander, N.Y.) placed third in the javelin and was the top collegiate finisher with a throw of 46.46 meters. Sullivan Keller (Alden, N.Y.) placed sixth (39.06 meters), Justin Milner (Ithaca, N.Y.) finished seventh (35.81 meters), and Andrew Strobele (Akron, N.Y.) placed ninth (28.57 meters).  Keller also finished third in the hammer throw with a heave of 37.84 meters and placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 11.72 meters.

In jumps, Shaquille Corrica (New York City, N.Y.) continued to be the standout jumper for the Wildcats. In the long jump, he placed second with a leap of 5.69 meters and followed it up with a fourth-place showing in the triple jump after he jumped 11.99 meters.
