MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Daemen College men's outdoor track and field team closed out its 2018 season by taking part in the Gator Invite hosted by Allegheny College here today.
The Wildcats competed in just four events on the day.
Redshirt senior Justin Petrocy (Elma, N.Y.) registered a top-10 finish, as he placed seventh in the 400 meters with a time of 55.43. The 1,500 meters featured freshman Mike Swiniarski (Akton, N.Y.) and sophomore Josh Bodnar (Fillmore, N.Y.). Swiniarski placed 21st with a time of 4:15.68, while Bodnar came in 30th with a time of 4:26.02.
Seniors Zach Laird (Alexander, N.Y.) and Shaquille Corrica (New York City, N.Y.) competed for the Wildcats during the field events. Laird was one of eight competitors in the javelin and he placed fifth with a throw of 45.91 meters. Corrica, the school-record holder in the long jump and the triple jump, took part in the long jump and placed seventh out of nine entrants with a jump of 6.16 meters.
