Summer continues to fly by for Daemen Athletics. While our gym is buzzing with camps and activities, we are already looking forward to next week when we will welcome our women's volleyball team back to campus for preseason practice. Over the next few weeks many of our teams will report for preseason practice including women's tennis, men's golf, men's and women's soccer, women's triathlon and men's and women's cross country. These student-athletes will start a new year for their team and themselves. Many of them will be first-year college students, embarking on the journey of being a student-athlete; a journey, I hope, that provides them with all the values that college athletics has to offer. This will be an exciting time for all of our student-athletes, some starting new and some looking to finish out careers. I look forward to the many accomplishments they are sure to achieve. Make sure that you stay tuned to daemenwildcats.com to catch all the action of the upcoming year.  Much of the summer has been spent preparing for our Sixth Annual Wildcat Golf Classic, which is tomorrow! Through countless hours of preparation, we are excited that the golf outing is finally here. We will welcome our Wildcat family and friends out for a day of fun and celebration of all Daemen has accomplished this year. As always, we will have a wide assortment of baskets and gifts at the silent auction and basket raffle. If you were unable to make the golf outing this summer, remember that it is never too late to donate to Daemen Athletics to support any of our initiatives.  Our summer has also been busy running a national search for our next Director of Athletics. Last fall, our former Director of Athletics Bridget Niland, announced that she would be pursuing professional opportunities with the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. Her energy, passion and commitment to the best for Daemen Athletics and its student-athletes is missed, and we knew there would be large shoes to fill. The search committee has been hard at work trying to find the next leader for Daemen Athletics and is hopeful that a new Director will be in place soon.  Thank you Wildcat fans for the continued support you show Daemen Athletics.
