WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - Graduate student Jon Moote (Wilson, N.Y.), sophomore Ethan Keating (Wooster, Ohio) and junior Aidan Kincaid (Orchard Park, N.Y.) all placed among the first 10 finishers to lead the Daemen University men's cross country team to a second place showing at the Daemen Alumni Invitational held today at Bassett Park.

Daemen totaled 58 points in the 8K race's team standings, finishing behind only team champion Roberts Wesleyan University which amassed 46 points. Le Moyne College (59 points), Niagara University (61) and Bryant & Stratton College-Buffalo (155) also had teams competing today.
Moote paced the Wildcats today with a time of 27:24.3, finishing in fifth place. It marked the 18th time in Moote's 21 career races that he's come across as Daemen's first finisher.
Keating was among the Daemen scorers for a second consecutive race, placing sixth today with a time of 27:27.1. Keating had led the Wildcats at last week's Doug Watts Open, a 6K race, with a time of 20:51.9.
Kincaid earned his second straight top-10 finish at Daemen's home meet, placing 10th today with a time of 28:06.2. He was eight seconds faster than last year when he placed fourth with a time of 28:14.7.
Sophomore Matthew Strasser (Alden, N.Y.) and junior Josh Trometer (Lancaster, N.Y.) completed Daemen's five scorers in the meet. Strasser figured in the scoring for the second straight week, placing 19th with a time of 28:49.2. Trometer wasn't far behind, placing 23rd with a time of 29:23.5.
Brad Tobin (Hamburg, N.Y.), Steven Blatto (Lancaster, N.Y.) and Laertes Cushing (Alfred, N.Y.) also competed for Daemen today, placing 29th, 35th and 42nd, respectively.
Several Daemen alumni also competed today, including Phil Ceccarelli, Connor O'Brien and Alexander Reynolds. Ceccrelli paced the Daemen graduates with a time of 30:03.5, good for 27th place.
The Wildcats are idle next week and will return to racing Saturday, Sept. 28 when they trek to Roberts Wesleyan University for the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
