With the loss, Daemen drops to 0-2 on the season. Walsh, a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, improves to 2-0 while taking a dramatic sweep of their tour through Western New York. New York Tech, which was picked third in the ECC preseason poll, scored twice in the span of a minute midway through the first half and took a 3-0 lead into halftime. Mercy remained unbeaten on the year (7-0-1) and improved to 2-0-0 in the ECC, while Daemen dropped to 0-7-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the league. Daemen held a 1-0 lead at halftime and the game was tied 1-1 until Mercy struck for two goals in the span of seven minutes with less than 20 minutes to play in regulation time. Mercy was picked first in the ECC preseason poll and is currently ranked ninth nationally and second in the East Region by the United Soccer Coaches.
