Basketball standout Amy King was inducted into the Daemen Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999 after a brilliant four-year career. King amassed 1,912 points and 638 assists in 129 games played - three of the 15 program records she established at the time. She remains the program record holder with an astonishing 646 steals. Her 565 steals in regular season play also remain the most for any player in NAIA Division II history. King’s career included four team MVP selections, four all-conference nods and a KECC Freshman of the Year selection. She helped Daemen to KECC championships in 1996 and 1997. After Daemen switched conference affiliations, she was named the NAC Player of the Year in 1999, the same season that she earned Third Team All-American honors.
