Hall of Fame
Don Silveri made a lasting impact as both a coach and administrator at Daemen and was inducted into the Daemen Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Coming to Daemen in 1989 to take over the men’s basketball program, Silveri went on to achieve a 414-344 overall record in 25 seasons as head coach. His success included nine 20-win seasons, four NAIA National Tournament appearances and two USCAA National Tournament appearances. A three-time Coach of the Year recipient in the various conferences Daemen was associated with during his tenure, Silveri led his 2003-04 team to the NAIA Elite Eight and his 2012-13 team to the USCAA national finals. After adding Athletic Director duties in 1999, Silveri oversaw an aggressive expansion of Daemen Athletics, increasing sport sponsorship from three intercollegiate teams to 10. Daemen teams captured 11 conference championships during his administrative tenure.
