While Kyle Clifford competed in three different sports at Daemen, a rarity in the modern age of intercollegiate athletics, his biggest exploits came on the soccer pitch where the West Seneca, N.Y. native appeared in 57 games from 2010-13. In that time, he set program records for career goals (30) and points (68). His best season came as a sophomore in 2011 when he tallied 16 goals and 34 points en route to earning All-American Mideast Conference First Team honors. As a senior, with Daemen transitioning from the NAIA to NCAA Division II, Clifford tallied 14 goals and was named to the All-East Coast Conference Second Team. He was also recognized by the United Small College Athletic Association (USCAA) as a Second Team All-American.Â
In basketball, Clifford appeared in 53 games over the course of two seasons (2013-15). During the 2014-15 campaign, the 5-foot-11 shooting guard averaged 10.0 points per game and canned 64 three-point field goals. He caught fire in March and was named to the USCAA National Championships All-Tournament Team while helping Daemen to three wins and the program's first USCAA national title. Clifford was also a member of Daemen's inaugural track and field team in 2011, and was the program's record holder in the 400 meters for several seasons.Â
