Daemen University Athletics

Matt Pokigo competed in both soccer and golf during his Daemen tenure from 2001-06. On the golf course, he fired a low round of 73 and was named the team’s MVP in 2005. Pokigo served as the golf team’s captain in his junior and senior seasons. He was a three-time NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete for golf and also earned the accolade once for soccer. Pokigo was also named the Daemen Student Employee of the Year in 2003 and went on to be a graduate assistant in the Athletics Department. He was inducted into the Daemen Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006.
